Today, as I do every Christmas, I was looking at old Christmas pictures. But I thought I would go through my kids pictures (all now in their 30s) to get one from every year. I thought I had one from every year, but it turns out I don't. Why? Because we were poor. There was time, for you younger kids, when people had to shoot film, there was no digital. Also, there was a time when every single breath of a person was not recorded for the future. So you see, there are relatively few pictures of me as a kid. In those days it just wasn't even thought of. But when I had my kids I thought I took a lot of pictures. But then there were those years we were very poor. I remember when my second son was born, at one point I could not afford a 13 cent stamp. Now we weren't exceptionally poor. We always lived in a decent place (except for that trailer) and we always had food. But we didn't have lots of extras. So I guess there were 2 years I didn't even have film for the camera.
And that makes me sad. There are so many cameras now, that this will most likely never be a problem in the future. I wonder though, is it good or is it bad.
