My 1st night in NYC & really until I got to see Central Park I thought I never have to return to New York City, but I think now, a few weeks away from there, I might want to go back.

Mostly because I can't remember the stories about the buildings. We passed so many. Did you know there is a church near Ground Zero that George Washington prayed for his troops in. That it not only escaped 9/11, even though all the other buildings surrounding it suffered damage. There was a fire in the 1800s & it suffered no damage. In its yard is a cemetary. There in the middle of what I believe is the Financial District. I don't even know its name.

The other day I saw a movie star, Marlon Waynans, who grew up in what is now the Meat Packing District. He said that it use to be a ghetto. Now it is pretty. There are parks and trees everywhere in NYC. I didn't see any of the New York I had heard of...instead I saw a lovely city. Although it is packed with buildings I don't really believe it is that large landwise.

I didn't go on the subway. No lose. I have been on beautiful subways in Washington DC & Paris. I still have preconceived notions about the subways in New York.

I am not a crowd person so I wasn't crazy about Times Square, but the area of Park Avenue, where our hotel was was beautiful. I want to know more about it. I want to visit Greenwich Village and Chelesa.

So I will go back. I retract my statement. I don't know when, but someday I will head back.

Do you have a dream hotel room? I do. I remember when I stayed in my first "nice" hotel. It was Highlands Inn in Beautiful Carmel-By-The-Sea. I was expecting something luxurious and spectacular. Well...the view in the bar/restuarant was spectaular, but the room wasn't.

That was how I felt in the Waldorf. I had heard so much about it, about seeing famous people. Nothing. Just people hanging in the lobby hoping to catch the famous. Hey...I think they are in the Towers people.

So I will continue to look for that awesome place. I guess I need to join the hotel clubs so I can get up on the top floors. If you have a dream of the best hotel room ever then tell me what it is. Maybe I can hear in your words what I am looking for. Maybe...

OK, so tell me this too, what should I NOT miss next time I go back to NYC?

Peace KB
