Subject: RE: Your response from Senator Bill Nelson
Dear Mrs. Buckingham:
Thank you for contacting me regarding White House advisers. I have had an opportunity to meet and talk with other Floridians who share your concerns.
As Florida's United States Senator, I take seriously my responsibility to uphold the U.S. Constitution. I share your respect for our U.S. Constitution, and I’ve always insisted there be checks and balances on the White House in the form of congressional oversight, regardless of who is president. At the same time, I believe presidents are entitled to have advisers of their own choosing. Please know that I will always promote transparency and accountability in government.
I appreciate your letter. Your communication helps me serve you better in the Senate. Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any future concerns.
Sincerely,
Senator Bill Nelson
MY RESPONSE:
Sen Nelson (9/6/09)
I received your bland, politically correct, response to my recent inquiry re Van Jones & other advisors of Pres. Obama. Please be advised that I am posting my e-mails to you & your responses on my blog so all Floridians can see how well you take these issues into account come election day. Sir, you have no problem with your President having a self-avowed Marxist, Communist advising him? Are you truly an American? Do you stand up for our values? Why aren't you in the Senate & the Congress asking questions instead of letting the President pick unvetted advisors? Why was one of the co-founders of the Weather Underground one of the authors of the Stimulus Plan. Stand up Mr. Senator. You climbed into a missile that was fired into space & yet you don't seem to have the guts to speak up about this shenanigans going on in the White House. Don't send me your canned responses - show me your Legislative Might. Are you Rank & File like Rep Castor or are you for the People Of Florida & America? We the people are looking closely at you politicians between now & the next election...don't discount us. Or maybe you are just looking to retire.
